Acra Ragdolls - 3 kittens from litter

Beautiful Ragdoll Kittens A stunning example of the breed

Ever since we got our moggy-cross-ragdoll, Kitty, eleven years ago, we fell in love with the breed and wanted to get a pedigree one day.

After years of researching ragdolls, Mrs ACRA developed a real passion for the breed. Prior to having children, she had worked with animals for many years and accumulated plenty of knowledge about birthing and raising kittens. The desire to simply own a ragdoll quickly turned into a wish to become a hobbyist family breeder.

It took until 2022 for the dream to become a reality. Once the time and space were available to fully commit, we found our mentor, Adoring Ragdolls, who supplied us with our first queen, Sophie. In May that year, Sophie had a beautiful litter of seven kittens, six of which found loving homes, while one stayed with us to continue her mother’s line.

Sophie had her second litter in June 2023 and it was a joy to raise them at Ragoll Corner.

Ethical family
ragdoll breeder

When choosing your new ragdoll kitten, you want to find one that will settle into your home whatever your family dynamic is. We strongly believe in bringing up our kittens within the family home, alongside children and other pets. Your kitten will not be phased by a busy environment and should adjust well to its new home and housemates, meaning that you can worry less about settling your cat in and focus on enjoying your new pet.

Why "Ragdoll Corner"?

All of our kittens are raised within our family home alongside our two children, other cats, a dog and, when they venture outside into the catio, the tortoise, Bobbert!

We felt that it would be far nicer for the kittens to be around us as much as possible, so rather than shutting them off in a bedroom or cattery, we corner off a section of our family room to be their own "nursery" - their "Ragdoll Corner".

The ragdoll breed

Ragdolls are the perfect family cat due to their gentle, easygoing nature. They have been described as "dog-like", because they will quite frequently follow you around and greet you when you return home, always wanting to be in your company.

Ragdolls commonly enjoy being cuddled and stroked, and will often lay happily on your lap and sleep on your bed with you.

In appearance, ragdolls have beautiful, light-coloured fur with contrasting coloured points and bright blue eyes. Ragdolls come in many different colours and patterns, which you can read more about in this blog article.

Despite being long-haired cats, ragdolls' fur is very easy to manage and groom with regular upkeep. We brush our cats at least weekly and have yet to encounter any matting.

What type of cat litter is best for Ragdolls?

Broadly speaking, there are three main types of cat litter available in the shops – wood and paper-based, silica, and clay in non-clumping and clumping varieties. I am only going to talk about the ones we have used or had experience with, and why we use the one that we do.

About the Ragdoll Breed

I can’t express how beautiful a ragdoll truly is. In my opinion, they are absolutely the most stunning breed out there...but then I am biased! I suppose I should share facts and traits instead of my own opinion!
